Guitar Contests

If you're lucky, guitar contests can give you a chance to win all sorts of cool guitar gear. Sometimes there are even sweepstakes to win VIP passes to concerts and private sessions with famous musicians.

Heck, I've always had a saying - "If it's free, it's for me!" If I can stick my name in a hat to win cool stuff and it's not gonna cost me anything but a little time, I'm all for it. I've been able to speed up the process, too.

No one likes to fill out a bunch of online forms, so you can use autofill add-ins for Internet Explorer and Firefox to do the heavy lifting for you. You fill in the blanks once, and then when a form shows up on a web page, you just click a button and you're done.

You can add the Google Toolbar for both IE and Firefox. Just do a quick Google search in your chosen internet browser and download the toolbar to your machine.

Here are a number of great websites that host all sorts of guitar contests, musical gear and recording software contests and concert sweepstakes. Some of them offer monthly giveaways, while others are always updating their contests with new stuff. I'll add more as I find them - be sure to bookmark this page so you can find it easily...

• Two or Three Guitar Contests at Gibson.com - There's also other gear and merchandise giveaways, too.
• Premier Guitar Gear Giveaway - Not only gear contests, but an online magazine you can subscribe to for FREE!
• Ultimate-Guitar.com Contests - Not only a great site for tabs and lessons, but also a good compilation of guitars and other stuff being given away.
• Musiciansfriend.com Sweepstakes - Get yourself VIP passes to concerts and events.
• Zzounds.com Giveaways - More gear contests.
• Sweetwater.com Monthly Gear Giveaway - Monthly giveaways of recording gear, guitars and gear and other packages.
• GuitarCenter.com Events - Check out the various concerts and GC events. There are chances to win tickets to concerts.

Those are just a few places you can enter contests to win guitars, amps, gear and other merchandise, updated pretty regularly. Let's face it, I can't be everywhere to scout out all the music related contests on the World Wide Web. I could use your help! How about sharing the contests you find?
