So you want some online electric guitar lessons? Well step right up, you've come to the right place! Here on Learn-to-play-rock-guitar.com, I want to help you get on the road to reaching your guitar-playing goals. I'm constantly finding excellent online resources for learning rock guitar.

What if you're more into Country, Blues, Folk or Jazz? I'm mainly focusing on Rock, but when you're just starting out, we're all on the same level. You need to learn how to take care of your new-found love, how to tune your baby, handle her oh so gently so she responds to you… You have to know how to touch her, too. I cover all this and more through my lessons and links to good resources. Don't be turned off by the thought that Rock may just sound like noise to you or you just don't get anything out of it. We can all learn something from each other.

You may surprise yourself. After all, guitars are all basically the same. The only difference is the music we choose to play on our axes.

Rock is heavily based in blues - that's where Rock got its start. But you can find influence from all styles of music in Rock&Roll, including Classical. Many Rock musicians end up branching out and exploring other styles. Or maybe they start off playing something other than Rock and end up here...

For example, Craig Chaquico started off as lead guitarist for Jefferson Airplane/Starship. Now he plays Jazz guitar. Neal Schon started off playing Blues with Carlos Santana (at the age of 15!)- and moved on the be the guitarist for Journey. Heck, Danny Elfman was the Oingo Boingo leader and front-man playing rhythm guitar, but now he writes scores for movies and TV (think Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Spider Man, Nightmare Before Christmas…).
