Finger Independence Exercises

Part One

Here are the tabs and a video showing the first part of the exercises.

Finger Independence Exercises, Part 1

Here's the basic fingering: place your index finger on the third string (G) at the fifth fret, middle finger at the sixth fret, ring finger at the seventh and pinky at the eighth.

Now, keeping your fingers stationary EXCEPT for your index finger, move your index finger back and forth across the neck from string one (high e) to string six (low E). Repeat twenty times then move it back to its beginning position at the fifth fret. Repeat the process with each finger, keeping the others in a fixed position on the third string. Sounds easy until you get to the ring finger!
