Summer NAMM 2011

If you're going to be anywhere near Nashville in July 23, 2011, and you like checking out the new gear from your favorite manufacturers, you need to head to the Summer NAMM show. For the first time ever, the trade show will be open to the public.

For those of you that don't know what NAMM is, it's the National Association of Music Merchants. NAMM is a non-profit organization that serves the community of music related businesses. They put on a trade show in the summer and winter seasons in various cites around the US.

Normally, you have to be in the music industry to get into one of these trade shows. But this summer, the general public is invited to come in and participate in classes, clinics and concerts. You can even try out the new gear!

They're calling this day "Wanna Play Music Day", a chance for consumers to get in and see what all the excitement is about. If you like gear, this is the place to be.

To wet your whistle, check out these videos from the 2010 NAMM Show.

Tickets for Summer NAMM’s WANNA PLAY MUSIC DAY are $15 in advance (before July 8), $20 thereafter (July 8-23), and are on sale at www.namm.org/summer/2011/wannaplay.

Get 'em while they're hot!
